How to use the online clock

The time shows up as soon as the page opens, with hours, minutes and seconds. The clock uses your device’s time zone and checks the time against our server: if your phone or computer clock is fast or slow, you’ll see the difference right under the date.

Use the buttons to switch between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour time, show milliseconds or see the analog clock with hands. Your choices are saved in this browser.

The Full screen button turns your screen into a large, high-contrast desk clock, great for presentations, exams, studios and gyms. To exit, tap the button again or press Esc.

The world clock lets you follow the time in other cities at once. Add or remove cities; the list is saved too.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the exact time?

Yes. The time shown comes from your device clock, corrected by our server time, which is synchronized over the internet (NTP). What’s left is a fraction of a second, due to the network round trip.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time, the world’s time reference. Time zones are described by their offset from UTC: New York is UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 during daylight saving time.

How do I make the clock full screen?

Tap Full screen under the clock. The digits get big, on a dark, high-contrast background. To exit, tap again or press Esc. On iPhone, the page fills the screen without hiding the browser bar.

Can I switch to 24-hour time?

Yes. Tap 12 h to turn it off and the clock shows 24-hour time. Your choice is saved in the browser.

Does the clock change for daylight saving time?

Yes. The time follows each country’s official rules (IANA database), so clock changes happen automatically.
