Privacy Policy
Translation of the Portuguese original. If there is any difference, the Portuguese version prevails.
In short: O Relógio requires no sign-up and doesn’t collect your name, email or phone number. Your alarms and settings stay in your browser only. Below is exactly what happens with visitors’ data.
1. Who is responsible
O Relógio is a product of DANTAI, CNPJ 00.176.524/0001-38 (Brazil), the controller of the personal data processed on this site under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, LGPD).
2. What data is processed
Access logs
Like any website, the server automatically logs technical data for each visit: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system. These logs keep the site running and secure and are kept for at least the 6 months required by Brazilian law (Marco Civil da Internet).
Language choice
On your first visit to the home page, the approximate country of your IP address is looked up in a database
installed on our own server, only to open the site in Portuguese, Spanish or English. The result is not stored.
The country database is “IP to Country Lite” by DB-IP,
licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. If you pick a language, it’s saved in the lang
cookie for one year.
Exact time
To check whether your device clock is right, the page asks our server for the time. No data about you is sent in that request beyond the regular access described above.
What stays in your browser only
Alarms and their labels, world clock cities, 12/24-hour format, theme, sound, volume, stopwatch laps and any running timer are saved in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). They are not sent to our server, and you can delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser. To work offline, the site also keeps a copy of its own pages in your browser (service worker).
Notifications
If you allow it, your browser shows an alert when an alarm rings. The permission lives in your browser; we don’t send push notifications over the internet and don’t store any identifier for them.
Audience measurement (Google Analytics)
To know how many people use the site, which pages are most viewed and where visits come from, the site uses
Google Analytics. It records, statistically, pages viewed, time on site, device type,
approximate city or country and the source of the visit (search, link, direct). Google Analytics does not
store the full IP address, and this data is not used to personalize ads. Outside the European Economic Area,
the United Kingdom and Switzerland it uses the _ga and _ga_* cookies (up to 2 years);
in those regions, only with your consent. You can opt out with the
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
or by blocking cookies in your browser.
What is not collected
The site has no sign-up, login or forms.
3. Cookies and ads
Today the site uses the lang cookie (language), the Google Analytics measurement cookies (section 2) and no advertising cookies. In the future it may show Google AdSense ads; if so, Google and its partners may
use cookies and identifiers to show and measure ads, and this policy will be updated first. Where the law
requires it, your consent will be asked.
Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com and choose the ads you see at adssettings.google.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
4. Purposes and legal basis
- Running and securing the site (access logs, language, exact time): legal obligation and legitimate interest (LGPD art. 7, II and IX).
- Audience measurement (Google Analytics): legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (LGPD art. 7, IX); in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent.
- Ads, if any: consent where required, or legitimate interest (LGPD art. 7, I and IX).
5. Who data is shared with
- Hosting company, which runs the site’s server.
- Google, which provides audience measurement (section 2) and, if and when there are ads, the ads (section 3).
- Authorities, under a court order or legal obligation.
Data is never sold. Some of these providers may store data outside Brazil, with the safeguards required by the LGPD.
6. Your rights
You can ask for confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. Use the channel on the Contact page. You can also complain to Brazil’s data protection authority (ANPD) or the authority in your country.
7. Children
The site does not knowingly collect data from children or teenagers.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. The date of the latest version is always shown at the top of this page.
